In his last position he oversaw the increase of the market share of the company from 12 to 26% in just 4 years, combined with an increase in the ARPU and more than doubling of the customer base in a very challenging competitive environment and amid an economic crisis in the country. In line with the overall shift of power from traditional telco players to the OTT businesses, Atanas has been devoting a lot of time and resources in the last couple of years to help build and strengthen the local startup eco-system in Bulgaria by being a mentor for the portfolio companies of the two major local accelerators – Launchub and Eleven – and also by helping the local team of the StartUp foundation. He is also advising several emerging startups from the CEE region with strong focus on mobile – Flyver (Android SDK for UAVs), pCloud (next-generation cloud service) and TaxiStars (revolutionizing the taxi ordering business in the region). The collaboration with the incredibly smart and inspiring individuals (and teams) in the start-up community has been the most energizing and rewarding way of spending his spare time, that Atanas can imagine, and he feels very fortunate to be doing it.

In his new role as General Manager of Viber for CEE Atanas takes over the exciting task of building on the already huge popularity of Viber in the Central and Eastern Europe and offering quality local content and services to the millions of users across the region. Viber’s goal will be to help each and every user to express their emotions and share all the good vibes in their lives with all the people that are important to them in a vivid, fast and easy way.
