Patrick Curran

Patrick Curran is Chair of the Java Community Process organization. In this role he oversees the activities of the JCP’s Program Management Office including evolving the process and the organization, managing its membership, guiding specification leads and experts through the process, chairing Executive Committee meetings, and managing the web site.

Patrick has worked in the software industry for more than 25 years, and at Sun and then Oracle for 20 years. He has a long-standing record in conformance testing, and before joining the JCP he led the Java Conformance Engineering team in Sun’s Client Software Group. He was also chair of Sun’s Conformance Council, which was responsible for defining Sun’s policies and strategies around Java conformance and compatibility.

Patrick has participated actively in several consortia and communities including the W3C (as a member of the Quality Assurance Working Group and co-chair of the Quality Assurance Interest Group), and OASIS (as co-chair of the Test Assertions Guidelines Technical Committee).

Mario Peshev

Mario Peshev is the Founder and WordPress Architect at DevriX ( He is a seasoned speaker since 2006 and a technical trainer providing consulting for large international brands and multinational corporations including VMware, Software AG, Saudi Aramco and CERN.

Mario has production experience with various technical stacks and programming languages including Java, Python, PHP and JavaScript. He is a Sun Certified Java Programmer and mile2 Certified Secure Web Applications Engineer.

Over the past few years Mario has been focusing on WordPress, by contributing over 30 patches to the WordPress Core, organizing WordPress events around the world and building scalable WordPress applications for media outlets, automotive and airline manufacturers and corporations in the educational, eCommerce, banking and telecom fields.

Nikolay Milovanov

Nikolay is a network freak and lazy software nerd 🙂 He came from networking and infrastructure to software. How that has happened he does not really know. Topics like SDN and cloud are a natural match for his interests. Nikolay has a PhD from NBU in IPv4 to IPv6 network transformation and a specialization in Architectures for Software systems from Carnegie Mellon. In his spare time Nikolay enjoys traveling and catching fish on a fly.

Nikolay Petkov

Nikolay Petkov is Service Center Manager at Proxiad Bulgaria. He manages projects for more than 3 years and works with Java for more than 10 years now. Java developer at heart, he is managing Proxiads’ projects with pleasure. Always starving to read, learn and discover new things in order to not disappear like a dinosaur. Nikolay believes in agile and reactive manifesto. He loves to play tennis, ride bicycle, mountain tracking and of course his team.

Thomas Walford

Thomas is a software engineer holding a mathematics degree from Warwick University, with experience in Java, Scala and the Spring and Play frameworks. In his most recent project at Ocado Technology the team decided to give Scala a try and since then he has been an enthusiast of such technology as well as Akka and Play. In his spare time he is exploring the functional programming world.

Arkadiusz Sokolowski

Java and Scala developer. Professionally involved in programming for more than 15 years. Currently a Team Lead working at Ocado Technology in Poland.

Fan of functional programming, good books, continuous delivery, and mountains.

Believes, that writing a software is not the most difficult part of whole so-called software development.

Martin Kuvandzhiev

Martin is Founder and Chairman of ICT Club. He is good in playing guitar, photography and he loves to travel. He never give up until he gets what he wants. He is developer in US startup project for two years. Martin studies Computer and software engineering in TU-Sofia /3rd year/.

Albena Spasova

Albena Spasova is the President of the Management Board of the International Cybercrime Investigation Training Academy since it’s establishment in 2009. She is a founder of the Bulgarian Cyber Centre of Excellence for Training Research and Education (B2CENTRE). Albena Spasova is lawyer with 18 years of experience in the area of information security – she has worked on hundreds of cybercrime cases (protection of intellectual property rights; money laundering; combating organized crime and corruption). She is a former Law Enforcement Director at eBay Europe.

Albena Spasova is a lecturer on Information Security and Internet Law in the eBusiness Masters Program at the University of Science and Technologies in Lille, France, and a visiting lecturer at large number of European universities as well as in Cambodia and Senegal. She is an outstanding public speaker in conferences and events organized by the European Commission, Europol, Council of Europe, Anti-Phishing Working Group, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, European Training Academy, United Nations and others. She organized and participated in the South East European Regional Forum on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Borislav Sestrimski

Borislav Sestrimski is an Informational Security Specialist, having 20+ years experience in IT Infrastructure Security, Implementation and Configuration of Network and System Security Appliances and Applications. He is Senior Trainer at the International Cyber Investigation Training Academy and he is participating in the development and delivery of training modules such as: Open Source Intelligence Techniques, Cybercrime Investigations; Social Media and Mobile Devices; Virtual Worlds and Virtual Money; Public Awareness on the Internet or how to be safe online.

Ivan Yovkov

Ivan Yovkov has 4.5+ years of experience in IT. He has worked as QA and software developer at XS Software. Ivan has experience as speaker with different disciplines in SoftUni, from basic programming to programming in depth and advanced training courses.
